LISTEN

We went to a party where everybody must bring things in order to enter the party house.

I brought with me a dog.
A lady friend of mine brought a red bag.
Her brother brought with him a mini-board game.
My wife brought with her several fans.
A guest came with a solder.
Another guest came with a ladder.
The neighbors brought with them tinapays.
A kid brought with him a donkey.

After a while the owner of the house closed the doors.

Somebody knocked. He was asked, what have you brought?
He answered reading glasses. He was allowed to enter.
Another came and knocked. I brought with me a buck full of fruits. May I come in?
Answer? It should be NO.

Why?

What is Dengue? The role of blood sampling and herbal medication. :-)

This is a true account.

RAB, not her real name, a beautiful female with 2 years of age, cried out loud when the woman technician inserted a syringe into her veins to extract her blood. She was crying with tears flowing down her cute little face.

The doctor interpreted the data found in the test result as follows:

RAB has a low platelet count at 108x10. Normal platelet count is between 150 - 450 x 10. However, her low platelet count is not yet dangerous. Please come back at 3 p.m. with another blood test and if her platelet count will be lower than 100x10 we must confine her for close monitoring. We do not want any complications.

At 3 p.m. the woman technician inserted the syringe again and RAB cried out so loud that she wanted to spank the lady.

The doctor again took a look at the result and she said the following words:

RAB has only 94x10 platelet count. Technically, RAB has acquired dengue. By definition, there is dengue when the platelet count is lower than 100x10.

RAB was confined. Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS) was given to her every three (3) hours. During RAB's confinement in the hospital, six (6) blood samples were taken from her on an every eight (8) hour interval. Her blood platelet count went as low as 73x10. She was discharged from the hospital when her platelet returned to at least 100x10.

No doubt then, complete blood count (CBC) became a major monitoring event RAB's dengue. Take a look at this life-saving herb that easily grows in backyards.

Story of Destructive Disunity

Mr. Thumb said: I am the stoutest of them all. I can survive without them.
Mr. Point man said: Without me nobody will show the direction.
Mr. Tall man said: As the tallest, i deserve proper respect. I can live without the others.
Mr. Ring man said: I am the most precious since I hold the gold. I can survive without anybody.
Mr. Index man said: I have the strength to hold things. Without me, everybody is weak.
Their Creator challenged them, one by one, He asked each to pick a needle.

They all started picking their respective needle. Mr. Thumb spent all day without any positive results. Mr. Point man did the picking until the following day without any positive results. Mr. Tall man also failed, so did Ring man and Index man. They all burned out, got tired and were sure to surrender.

These Fingers may represent true lives.

My Coin, My Coin!

This is a true story. It was then rainy season. The unsuspecting mother of little Unan, a child of tender years, gave the latter a coin.

As Unan gracefully walked through the fish pond's edge, just near their home, he fell headlong. He was swiftly saved by a watchful young man. Unan was not crying. He has a clenched fist. Upon investigation by Unan's parents, laughter burst out when they found out that Unan held tight to his coin although his head was submerged in the water!

One of My Favorite Stories Ever Told

Once upon a time somewhere, a travelling man who was searching for greatness was lost. In his walk, he found an old man sitting under an old tree.

Travelling man: "Hey old man. Are great men born here?"

The old man smiled and answered: "Nope. Only babes."

The famous story of "Bata Bata Paano Ka Ginawa?"

Once upon a time, a curious child asked her single mom:

Child: Mama, how did i come into existence into this world?"

Mama: One day, I got a "banig" opened it and then rolled it back. Then "poof" you came into existence."

One day, the child got the "banig" opened it up and then rolled it back. The following night, she opened up the "banig" and found a cockroach in it.

Her mother was about to kill the cockroach with a rolled newspaper when the child intervened shouting, "Mama, NO!!!!!" That is my child!"

Morale: Parents, be honest.

A Variation of the Fingers Only Story

A Sunday School Student told his Sunday School Teacher the following that puzzled his teacher for some time:

Student: Ma'am, you told us in your story last Sunday that Judas died because he hanged himself. [Matthew 27:3-8]
Teacher: Yes.
Student: If so, why would his blood gushed out on the field. [Acts 1:18-19]
Teacher:  (?#*&3.. In her thoughts) Death by hanging would mean that Judas died without spilling any blood. How come blood gushed out on the field?

After some time,

Teacher: Everyone, listen. Both stories are true accounts. One saw the hanging portion [Matthew]; another saw the falling portion [Luke]. They complement each other.

Finger Hunters Only???

I thought they (referring to the natives of Northern Luzon, Philippines) were head hunters?" asked a classmate. "According to some writings, they lie in wait for an unsuspecting victim and chopped off his finger as their trophy." he added. What my classmate failed to see was the Changit!

When what another saw was only a portion of a story, it does not mean that his account is not accurate. When he interprets his findings, his conclusions become wrong because he did not have the entirety of the story.

The truth of the matter is that after the finger was chopped off from one person, another person's head was taken also. So they are not only finger hunters, they are also head hunters.
